God's Not The Author Of Confusion - Biblical and Quranic Examination

A beautiful quotation from God’s true word:

For God is not a God of confusion but of peace. (1 Cor 14:33)

However this sentence from the blessed Apostle Paul is not referring to God's essence and revelation not possessing any divine theological truths and mysteries, Paul had no problem with God's incomprehensibility and divine revelation: Rom. 11:25, 1 Co. 15:51. Eph. 1:9. Eph. 3:3-9, Eph. 5:32, Eph. 6:19, Col. 1:26, Col. 4:3, 2 Thess. 2:7, 1 Tim. 3:9, 16.

Rather the Greek word ἀκαταστασίας refers to:

“Avkatastasi,a avkatastasi,a, aj, h` disturbance 2 Cor 6:5; disorder, unruliness, unrest 1 Cor 14:33; 2 Cor 12:20; Js 3:16; insurrection Lk 21:9.* (A Greek-English Lexicon of the New Testament and Other Early Christian Literature, second edition, 1979, revised by F. Wilbur Gingrich and Frederick W. Danker, pg 6)”

And:
(188) Avkatastasi,a, &aj, h` (avkata, statoj), instability, a state of disorder, disturbance, confusion: 1 Cor. 14:33; James 3:16; (Clement of Rome, 1 Cor. 14, 1; ; (Prov. 26:28; Tobit 4:13)); plural disturbances, disorders: of dissensions, 2 Cor. 12:20 ; of seditions, 2 Cor. 6:5 (Cf. Meyer at the passage); of the tumults or commotions of war, Luke 21:9 (Polybius, Dionysius Halicarnassus).* (A GREEK-ENGLISH LEXICON OF THE NEW TESTAMENT Being GRIMM’S WILKE’S, CLAVIS NOVI TESTAMENTI, Translated, Revised and Enlarged by Joseph Henry Thayer, D.D., 1889, Copyright © 1998-2000 by International Bible Translators (IBT), Inc.)
And:
(862) avkatastasi,a, aj, h` instability, unrest; (1) of political unrest turmoil, revolution, insurrection (LU 21.9); (2) of social unrest rioting, tumult, disturbance due to mob action (2C 6.5); (3) OF COMMUNITY DISRUPTION, CONFUSION, DISORDER, UNRULINESS (JA 3.16) (ANALYTICAL LEXICON OF THE GREEK NEW TESTAMENT, Baker’s Greek New Testament Library, Baker Grand Rapids, © Baker Books 2000 All rights reserved, Electronic edition)
And:
AkatastasiÃa. This word signifies “disorder” a. as “political turmoil,” b. as “personal unrest.” Sense a. occurs in Lk. 21:9, sense b. in 2 Cor. 6:5. We also find in the NT a further sense c. “disruption” IN THE COMMUNITY THROUGH DISPUTES (Jms. 3:16) or CHARISMATIC EXAGGERATION (1 Cor. 14:33). )Kittel-Bromiley, Theological Dictionary of the New Testament (Abridged) (TDNT))

It is thus the disruption and unruliness of the charismatic gift of tongues and prophecies (out of order in the community 1 Cor 14)) in question, which is why Paul appeals to a God of true peace and order, not confusion, disruption and disorder:

  • BBE 1 Corinthians 14:33 For God is not a God whose ways are without order, but a God of peace; as in all the churches of the saints.

  • CEB 1 Corinthians 14:33 God isn’t a God of disorder but of peace. Like in all the churches of God’s people,

  • CJB 1 Corinthians 14:33 for God is not a God of unruliness but of shalom. As in all the congregations of God’s people,

  • CSB 1 Corinthians 14:33 since God is not a God of disorder but of peace. As in all the churches of the saints,

  • CSBO 1 Corinthians 14:33 since God is not a God of disorder but of peace. As in all the churches of the saints,

  • DRA 1 Corinthians 14:33 For God is not the God of dissension, but of peace: as also I teach in all the churches of the saints.

  • ETH 1 Corinthians 14:33 Because Aloha is not of tumult, but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints.

  • MIT 1 Corinthians 14:33 For God does not generate disorder—but tranquility. As in all the congregations of the holy ones,

  • MRD 1 Corinthians 14:33 Because, God is not [the author] of tumult, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

  • TNT 1 Corinthians 14:33 For God is not causer of stryfe: but of peace as he is in all other congregacions of the saynctes.

  • WEB 1 Corinthians 14:33 For God is not {the author} of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

  • YLT 1 Corinthians 14:33 for God is not a God of tumult, but of peace, as in all the assemblies of the saints.

However the Quranic Allah enjoys confusing others:

He it is who has bestowed upon thee from on high this divine writ, containing messages that are clear in and by themselves – and these are the essence of the divine writ – as well as others that are allegorical. Now those whose hearts ARE GIVEN to swerving from the truth go after that part of the divine writ which has been expressed in allegory, seeking out [what is bound to create] confusion, and seeking [to arrive at] its final meaning [in an arbitrary manner]; but none save God knows its final meaning. Hence, those who are deeply rooted in knowledge say: “We believe in it; the whole [of the divine writ] is from our Sustainer – albeit none takes this to heart save those who are endowed with insight. 3:8

Allah confesses the allegorical verses are only known to him, and he givens those whom hearts are swerving over to seek out confusion:
As for the Disbelievers, Whether thou warn them or thou warn them not it is all one for them; they believe not.Allah hath sealed their hearing and their hearts, and on their eyes there is a covering . Theirs will be an awful doom. And of mankind are some who say: We believe in Allah and the Last Day, when they believe not. They desire to deceive Allah and those who believe, and they deceive only themselves and they do not perceive. In their hearts is a disease (of doubt and hypocrisy) and Allah has increased their disease. A painful torment is theirs because they used to tell lies . 2:6-10
And they (the disbelievers) schemed, and Allah schemed (against them): and Allah is the best of schemers. 3:55
And their boast, “Behold, we have slain the Christ Jesus, son of Mary, [who claimed to be] an apostle of God!” However, they did not slay him, and neither did they crucify him, but it only seemed to them [as if it had been] so; and, verily, those who hold conflicting views thereon are indeed confused, having no [real] knowledge thereof, and following mere conjecture. For, of a certainty, they did not slay him. 4:157
And We sent not a Messenger except with the language of his people, in order that he might make (the Message) clear for themThen Allah misleads whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.14:4

Not only is Allah the author of confusion, he is the very God responsible for misleading all the disbelievers by increasing their confusion and deception and refusing to change their hearts and grant them repentance.
